World in Prayer is on vacation this week.
Sort of.
The truth is that our extraordinary prayer writers and editors are all volunteers,
and by sheer chance, it turns out that several are facing family/job/life changes simultaneously.
Which left us without anyone able to write the prayers for this week.
But that also makes this a great opportunity to invite others either to be guest prayer-writers during the next few months, or become regular members of our team.
Here’s how it works:
Our team consists of 12-15 volunteers, with 6 of them having to pull back at least temporarily. Over the years, team members have come from several different countries and denominations. Right now, most of us are from the U.S. While we’d welcome more team members from the U.S., we’re especially eager to broaden our voices and have prayer writers who can see and pray for the world from the lenses of other continents and countries.
- Each week, one person writes the prayers in response to international news. The draft prayers are due on Wednesday evening (Pacific time).
- A second person then edits the prayers, checking for accuracy and readability and clarity, and then posts the prayers online. That’s done by Thursday night (Pacific time).
- Some people are only writers, some are only editors, and some choose to do both.
Because we rotate who writes and edits, you would end up serving approximately once every six weeks.
Interested? Or know someone who you thing would be a great addition to the World in Prayer team?
Contact us at: worldinprayer@aol.com
In your email, please include your name, country, and time-zone (we’ll want to arrange a time to talk and get acquainted).
We look forward to getting to know more of you, and to resuming regular publication of the prayers shortly!
Peace and blessings,
The World in Prayer Team
