- Merciful God, Ar-Rahman, Compassionate One, Great Spirit—bring comfort to all touched by the devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake off Kamchatka, in Siberia (Russia) triggering tsunami waves that reached as far as Hawaii and coastal California (USA), Japan, French Polynesia and Chile. Significant damage and evacuations occurred in Severo Kurilsk and Petropavlovsk, Kamchatka, (Russia).
- Shield the communities threatened by record wildfires in the regions around Arouca, Portugal and El Arenal, Spain. Provide calm tending, clear skies, and relief to firefighters risking all.
May the earth’s fractures heal, and may we work together in solidarity.
For leaders and global stewards
- Protector of peace and justice—guide economic and political leaders throughout the world, even as financial balances rates, reserves fluctuate alarmingly causing financial strain and stress to so many across the world amid rising global uncertainty. Trade agreements are being brokered and broken in all regions of the world even as U.S.–China trade talks in Sweden shape the future of tariffs and diplomacy. Grant wisdom and restraint in policymaking in all leaders, countries and regions.
- May the recognition of Palestinian statehood by France, and probably the UK and Canada in September, foster dialogue, justice, and a cease to suffering in Gaza.
May decisions be tempered by compassion, not conflict.
For the planet’s vitality
- Source of life and harmony—shed light on recent regulatory shifts by the U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and other national agencies including in many European countries, the UK, Asia, Africa, South America and the Arctic, that may weaken vital climate protections. Inspire renewed commitment to stewardship of Earth’s air, water, and living systems.
