Holy and gracious God, who loves all and forgets none, we bring to you our prayers for all your children around the globe.
For all in the throes of violence and war, including
- Ukraine and Russia,
- Palestine and Israel,
- Iran and the USA,India, Kenya,,
- Indonesia, Haiti,
- and anywhere your people live in fear:
Hear us, O God.
- For those areas experiencing unexpected tragedy, including
Parana, Brazil, where 23 died after a bus and truck collision; - for Kolkata, India, where at least 9 were killed in a hotel fire;
- for Kenya, where a tourist helicopter crashed killing the pilot and 6 passengers;
- and all those tragedies that remain unnamed;
Hear us, O God.
For children, your children and ours, that they may grow up safely and with less fear.
- We especially raise up the people of Thailand and the Philippines after each have experienced recent school shootings.
- Help us to create more safety for the youngest among us in our communities and our world;
Hear us, O God.
For all who live in fear because of racism:
- as we mourn the 7 black young people who have been found hanging from trees in the United States since the beginning of the year with little investigation into what happened;
- and all who experience fear, injustice, and oppression because of the color of their skin;
Hear us, O God.
For all those who bear the cross of suffering:
- whether ill, as we lift up the ongoing Ebola outbreak in DR Congo claiming the most lives in history;
- all who are unwell in body, mind, or spirit;
- all who are experiencing abuse of any kind;
- those who are unhoused;
- without enough resources;
- grieving a loss.
May they know your mercy.
Hear us, O God.
For all forgotten by us…..
……but dear to you;
Hear us, O God.
O compassionate and loving God,
make us channels of your infinite grace,
hear our prayers for your children and your world,
and guide us toward your beloved kin-dom.
Amen.
